Origins

DARED TO BELIEVE
The idea of a Football Club was conceived by a passionate group of 16-year olds who played, dreamed and dared to believe, together. The collective thought was to give direction to our passion by playing in recognised platforms which in turn would motivate us further.

A REBEL IS BORN
So commenced the journey in 2006. With the
intent came the name ‘Rebel’, inspired by the theme of 'Rang De Basanti' a cult hit. Our
young minds couldn’t help but draw parallels with football and in life where to rebel
against the ordinary was imperative to become exceptional.

A LEGEND IN THE BADGE
Rebels FC’s mascot the legendary bird Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth, regeneration and resilience. The founders unanimously deemed it appropriate and representative of each team member. In sum, wearing the badge signifies to hope, to rise and to thrive.
Thoughts

THE REBELS FC WAY OF PLAY
The attitude ‘You cannot defeat someone who
never gives up’ combines with the European and South American approach to football,
resulting in a unique style of play which is tactical, disciplined, dynamic and intense.
This is further adapted effectively to the context of Indian football.

THE KICK BACK
Rebels FC goes beyond the playing fields into
community-driven projects using football as means of transformation. The club works with
the foundation to provide resources and opportunities for underprivileged children to
make a career out of football, through scholarships, free coaching and as a
                                vocation.
